You & Me (2024) explores the diversification of Dutch culture through the eyes of Joke and Hans. Originally coined by a far-right Dutch politician as archetypes of the “typical” Dutch citizen, Joke and Hans are reimagined here as fictional characters at the center of the narrative.

The perceived “decline” of traditional Dutch culture is portrayed through the lens of a surrealistic home-invasion genre. Different cultures enter the domestic space, invading, deconstructing, contributing to, and ultimately transforming the clean, controlled Dutch aesthetic.
